Jimmy was born and raised in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. He graduated from O'Gorman High School in 2001, cum laude from the University of North Dakota in 2006 (Major: Computer Science; Minor: Mathematics), and from the University of South Dakota School of Law in 2009. After passing the bar exam in the summer of 2009, Jimmy joined his father, Dean, in the practice of law. Jimmy and his wife, Jolene, were married in the fall of 2008 and have two children.

Jimmy approaches the legal world much like he does the digital one, by utilizing his analytical skill-set to break down complex situations into their basic components. This allows Jimmy to translate a client's complex legal problem into a set of instructions that helps them understand the benefits and ramifications of their decisions.

In his free time Jimmy enjoys utilizing his computer science degree by further educating himself on modern computer programming techniques. He is a registered Apple Developer and has created his own software company. Jimmy lives on the technological front-line because he believes it is imperative that someone who offers guidance for a living know where the world is going.
